Meeting Overview:
Discuss what ideas from last meeting to pursue
Expand “Dinner and a Movie” selection
The Lyric Theatre is currently working with Gillies (Wednesday), Champs (Tuesday), and Cabo (Tuesday-Thursday)
Most of their business from this deal comes from Gillies and Cabo
Would consider expanding to Sharkey’s, Souvlaki, PKs, Boodreauxs, Mellow Mushroom, TOTS/BOTS, Next Door Bake Shop
Lyric Thatre and the restaurant split the cost of the ticket - $2.50 each
Need to advertise the deal more once the expansion happens
Scavenger hunt for “Get Out”
Confirmation for showing Get Out as a feature film is coming in the next few days
We need to present Susan with a scavenger hunt plan that will also link to our facebook campaign plan
Scavenger hunt will include t-shirts, tickets, etc. and be keyed in on clues and ideas that relate to the film
Facebook campaign for April featured films
Likely featured films
Patterson - for literary student population
Lego Batman movie
Sense of an ending (more focused to their older crow - move over)
Get out
We need to develop a plan to send to Susan that includes ways to get their Facebook followers to not only look at their page and information but interact with it
Big ticket item for raising awareness amongst students!!
How specifically do you want to pursue proposed ideas
Expansion
Susan will send a one sheet flyer that has the talking points
She is going to reach out to a lot of the businesses mentioned above because of her contacts but Bryan will be reaching out to Sharkey’s and Eric will be reaching out to Next Door Bake Shop
Scavenger hunt for “Get Out”
Susan needs a plan to look over that works with the facebook campaign plan
Looking to drive this featured film week as our main goal on the project
Facebook campaign for April featured films
Susan needs a plan to look over
Needs to captivate the reader and cause interaction
Any other ideas that came up over break
Looking to get involved with Party Positive and the Pamplin planner over summer
Out of our specific scope
Selling Lyric shirts at Greenhouse
They printed the original t-shirts but it was just a one time thing to sell in the movie theatre
Could be a good idea to just sell the t-shirts at Greenhouse to raise awareness
More ideas for once-a-month midnight showings
Brainstorm half a dozen movies that would be popular amongst the student population
Movies that have worked in the past include Pokemon, Monty Python, Fight Club
Collecting feedback data from current members
Come up with a survey to help the Lyric Theatre come up with current and monthly feedback on movies, food, experience, etc.
More focused on their current members than a yelp kind of format
Next steps
Bryan is contacting Sharkey’s about the “Dinner and a Movie” idea and reporting back to Susan
Eric is contacting Next Door Bake Shop about the “Dinner and a Movie” idea and reporting back to Susan
Susan is contacting the other businesses stated above and sending us her one sheet flyer with talking points on the “Dinner and a Movie” deal
We as a team need to draft a Scavenger hunt plan and a Facebook campaign plan and share this with the Lyric Theatre team before our next meeting
This will then be discussed and finalized at the next meeting (3/28)
We as a team are brainstorming ideas for more once-a-month midnight showings
