Project Name: The Lyric Revitalization Project

Work completed this reporting period:

  • Survey (586 responses)

  • Scavenger Hunt preparations and ideas sent to The Lyric for approval

  • Messaged Sharkey’s and Next Door Bake Shop for potential partnerships to expand their Date Night events

  • Launching new social media campaign for the upcoming movie event in late April

  • Ideas/Suggestions for late night movie showings

What’s going well and why:

The project is currently running smoothly as we are having fluid and thorough communication with The Lyric Board Members. Also, our specific team is meshing well as we each have our individual strengths that help each other. We have provided ideas and suggestions to The Lyric and will be pursuing an event idea for our capstone in order to boost traffic, awareness, and revenue. The Lyric Board Members: Susan, James, and Betty have been very receptive towards our ideas and suggestions and are planning to employ some of our ideas in the near future such as us taking over their social media to launch a new campaign along with running events on campus in preparations for next month’s premiere movie showing.

What’s not going well and why:

Our biggest challenge is the fact that The Lyric specifically caters towards critically acclaimed films which do not market as well with the college audience that wants to see the big, blockbuster type films that typically do not receive the same level of critic ratings. Therefore, we have to work with their mission statement and vision without compromising their values.

Suggestions/Issues:

Suggestions: Schedule a meeting right after the completion of meetings

Issue: Some of the suggestions/ideas we have made move slowly (due to regulations, permissions from the local government, etc.)

Project changes:

Our project has mostly been revolved around helping The Lyric with sharing our market knowledge of the college area and social media outreach but have recently moved towards helping them with a major project which includes a showing of a premiere movie scheduled for the end of April included with launching new social media campaigns along with some activities to drive awareness and traffic.
